As the Hamble area is local and a regular location for us we do not charge travelling expenses in most cases for yacht surveys on and around the river.
The Hamble river is a crowded centre for boats located on the eastern side of Southampton water offering good shelter and easy entry at all tides.
There are four main marinas on the river:
We can attend any of the above as well at the many smaller locations on the river such as Warsash, Deacons Yard, Crableck Marina and the Universal Shipyard.
Most surveys require a lift of the hull for either sea trial (a lift in) or for inspection of the underwater hull. The alternative can be drying out but on the Hamble river a lift is normally the most effective option.
The yards listed above all have some kind of lifting faculty. Be it a crane or yacht travel hoist. The larger hoists being at Hamble point, Port Hamble and Swanwick.
Though lifts are often organised through brokers for pre purchase surveys if this is not the case please contact us and we can give you further advice on how a survey may be undertaken on the Hamble river.
